Oregon has been identified nationally as one of those states "Hardest Hit" by the economic recession and especially with regard to the mortgage foreclosure crisis. The new Homeownership Stabilization Initiative in Oregon has received federal funds for the purpose of helping homeowners facing foreclosure. The application for the Initiative's first program, Mortgage Payment Assistance, will launch on December 10, 2010. Mortgage Payment Assistance will help at least 5,000 homeowners pay their mortgage for up to one year or $20,000, whichever comes first. The application will be available online at www.oregonhomeownerhelp.org and will be available until January 14, 2011. We all know friends or relatives who are facing some pretty rough times and need help. Please visit the website for detailed information.
